  • Roman. Contorniate, a Roman bronze medal/medallion with a deep furrow on the edge, thought to be struck in the 4th-5th centuries AD under Constantine I and his successors. The obverse represents a voctor in the chariot race. The reverse illustrates a tibicen, piper that plays the tibia a double-flute.
