- Turkey. An extremely rare medal only known by two specimens, including the present. It is unsigned (North Italian Master?) and commemorates the capture of Memphis (24 January 1517 AD) and the conquest of Egypt by Selim I as well as his appointment as a caliph. This medal shows on the obverse probably the only authentic contemporary portrait of Selim I.
