- Spain. Medal by the Anteo Lotello (Italy) commemorating the naval victory of the Holy League (Pope Pius V, Spain and the Sovereign Order of Malta) against the Ottoman fleet at Lepanto (7 October 1571 AD). Luis de Requenses y Zúñiga was appointed to this campaign by Filipe II with the mission to watch and control its commander-in-chief John of Austria, known for his impulsive temperament. Luis was nominated as governor of Milan in 1572/3 and then of the Spanish Netherlands. In 1574 AD.
