  • This medal is designed by Christian Vermuth and studio. fl. Representing Cyrus II of Persia (559-530 BC). The inscription ‘DAN · VII · 5 ·’ is related to the chapter seven of the book of Daniel (Daniel 7, 5) narrating his vision of four world-kingdoms symbolized by four beasts. The lion represented Nebuchadnezzar (Babylon), the bear Cyrus II (Persia), the Leopard Alexander the Great (Macedonia) and the beast Julius Caesar (Roman empire).
